Epstein island and the reality of the cluster of stringing truths. By Tejasvee Nagar.

Updated: Feb 17, 2024

The infamous Epstein Island controversy that has taken over social media in recent times isn't a newer topic that the public is suddenly drawn towards. The Jeffery Epstein list that was out in the first week of January had many renowned names on the cover.

But, those names were overlooked because of the name of one of the most famous scientists of our decade, Stephen Hawking. The memification of his engagement with the island made people forget about the actual scandal that surrounded Epstein Island and the people involved with it.

We are bound to question the level of moral decay that happens when someone gains uncontrolled power through money and politics. The Epstein Island is located on the waters of the carnival, a place that had been deceptive by its looks because it breaded the horrors known to

humanity.

The known saga that entails this island has made us aware of how the wealthy elites are complicit towards such heinous acts, and they get away with it with the involvement of media and justice. The media is keen to show you what the rich want you to see, turns the coin around, and protects the image of those who have been in power.

Epstein was a convicted child sex offender who turned his private island into a thriving playground for the powerful and the rich. This is not an island getaway, where the rich simply enjoy their freedom, but its a symbol of the moral decay and the misuse of power that happens at an extreme level.

When we talk about the ethics surrounding the Epstein Island debacle, we are not just posing a question about the lack of morality. We are also questioning the freedom that such power gives you. The so-called 'elites' who share posts about the treachery that happens at various places, who support causes of abuse, willingly turned a blind eye to the exploitation of young souls

happening on the island. These influential figures got involved with Epstein, and some even engaged in hedonistic acts that were sponsored by their wealth and their privilege. The island became an important place for people who claimed to be above the justice system and the people.

Epstein's influence extended beyond the island. Some of the individuals, if not participated, ignored or tolerated the activities taking place on the island. If a web of famous, rich and powerful people hide a place's dirty secret, it is bound to not be out. The chilling and perplexing reality of the survivor's make us question the truths that these people rely by, that they write in

their books, and their autobiographies. Or is it a way of living a two faceted life.

Even the legal system's failure to offer a verdict to Epstein's heinous acts during his lifetime makes us think about the level of power involved in this debacle. It reminds us how wealth and privilege can make people forget about the realities of actual people who suffer because of the acts of the powerful.

As we continue to ponder on the issue of Epstein island, it's important to know that it's not just a story but a reality of an entire group of morally apathetic people. It serves us with the reminder that the powerful are also not free to the consequences of their heinous actions.

Epstein's demise should not quieten the case. It should make us think on the grounds of how can we help to make people hold accountability? How can the legal system make changes to incorporate justice for the innocent? How do we condemn the sources of media that support these powerful people? And last but not least, how do we bring a change to the lives of people

affected by abuse.
